live performance of Là où cueillir la chute (Harvesting the Water-Fall) by Montreal-based artist Marie Côté, featured at the International Ceramic Art Fair (ICAF), in collaboration with Peter Morin, artist and curator of the Tahltan First Nation; Ziya Tabassian, percussionist; Olivier Girouard, electro acoustician and composer; and Navid Navab, multidisciplinary artist and composer. A visual and musical journey in five tableaux, the performance brings together Côté’s singing bowls with breathing, music, and Hand Talk (Plains Indian Sign Language) translated by Dr. Melanie McKay-Cody, a linguist of Cherokee, Choctaw, Shawnee, Pamunkey, Narragansett, Montaukett, Mohawk, and Pequot heritage.
